Prenatal Checkup Cost ----WOW!

As I have no insurance plan covering on pregnancy-related cost at this moment, we have to self-pay for all the necessary checkup at this stage.  We know that the bill could be scary but do not have much idea about how scary it could be. The clinic will not give you an estimated number so it's hard to find out before you've got your first bill.  The one visit we did on early May costs us US$11xx --- just a simple simple blood test and a 20-minute consultation time with a registered nurse. This was really out of our expectation. Though the service was good, it shouldn't be charged at such a high rate. I can actually have a return trip to HK and get the check done at this amount. 

Thanks God that there was one very helpful councilor working in the clinic who gave us the clue of how to reduce the cost. She recommended us to apply for the Yale hospital Freecare programme with the fact that our income is at the low-rank. So end up, we do not need to bear the cost at our own. What a relief.

Pray that we could fix the insurance issue when we arrived west coast so that we do not need to worry about the medical expenses again.

車仔膳食

因為New Haven 好味既中餐....幾乎無...(懷孕之後...胃口仲挑剔過之前)...多數中午都係去medical school 買車仔既東南亞食物.....仲有兩個星期左右就搬..我最想快d去飲茶...快d食中餐...

 

(Week 13)

Congratulations!

Congratulations! Today is Hugo's defense day. Finally another great milestone has been completed and our baby has reached week 12. 

Now starting to resume my appetite but will still throw up  occasionally before I go to bed.  I will always keep a plastic bag with me all the time.

Will need to start packing things in the coming two weeks. Becoz I can't move heavy items...Hugo will do all the labor work. He is really kind and he shares most of the housework in the recent days. Three cheers to you, Dad-to-be!

Btw, we have already informed the core family on Mother's Day. They are all thrilled. My dad reminds me not to 移床, 通渠& 打釘子.
(Week 12)

Twinkle Star 閃星星

Have the 1st registered nurse appointment today. She checked the blood pressure and body weight and for the very first time - A preliminary scan of the baby's image.

In fact, I can't see it clearly as I have lay down and the screen has some reflection looking from my angle..I should have asked the nurse to turn the monitor a bit...but my head was so blank at that time. When she explained what's on the screen..I just keep nodding my head. But Hugo said he saw it clearly. There's a twinkle star blinking -- that's our baby's heart! Hugo 說...一閃一閃很明亮的. 那一刻..感覺很奇妙..實實在在的有一個小生命在肚子中...心在不停的跳動.....好可愛. 

Still do not have appetite and keep throwing up. I am not sure whether it's due to the prenatal vitamins..Fear of taking the vitamins now. Sometimes when I feel really bad, I just skip it for that day. But then I feel guilty and try to pick it up again the following day. 總之, 食親維他命都有點怕.
